Lecture Theatre Upgrade – part of the 900th Anniversary Celebrations

We were approached in 2024 to help with the cost towards upgrading the Lecture Theatre, as part of an initiative to improve the audio and visual technology in some of the larger spaces within school.

After some consultation around the benefit of the project and the cost of installing all that was required in order to achieve the best long-term result, we donated an impressive £11,216. These funds fully paid for the provision of an 86” screen, digital audio mixer, amplifier, loudspeaker and all the accompanying cabling, microphone kits and installation required to future proof the Lecture Theatre for at least another ten years.

Although it was quite a substantial outlay, it was felt that the cost would make an enormous difference to the science lessons that take place in the Lecture Theatre, as well as being an integral part in the “Inspire” lectures taking place in 2025. These lectures are part of the events planned for the 900th anniversary celebrations of Reading School and was a fitting gift to both benefit the students as well as help celebrate this momentous event.

Installation was completed by January 2025, just in time for celebrations to begin.

The RSPA further welcomed the 900th anniversary celebrations by contributing the funds for every student to be given a commemorative pin-badge, bearing the distinctive colourful logo!
