We have REACHED our goal! Thank you SO much to all of the amazing Reading School community for making this happen.
Reading School has an ongoing requirement for two additional minibuses to fulfil its transport requirements. The extended sports curriculum opportunities introduced last year and the desire of the school to provide additional extra curricular visits, means they are having to find money to hire transport on a regular basis. They have reached out to the RSPA to see if together we can look at purchasing two additional Minibuses, utilizing the 2020 transport budget and ensuring that ongoing years transport requirements are guaranteed.
The cost of the two minibuses is £48,000. There is current funding of £40,000, comprising of the School’s £20,000 transport budget and a previously agreed £20,000 donation from the Reading School Parents’ Association. The RSPA was able to make this donation thanks to the generosity of parents corporate matching at the Summer Fayre, additional parental donations and the money we have been raising via other projects.
This leaves us with an £8K target to raise, a large ask we know! However this actually equates to £10 per family, which in Reading is less than the price of a cinema ticket. The RSPA see this as a way of us the parents helping Reading School to continue to provide our boys with the additional sporting and offsite opportunities introduced over the last two terms and visibly show support for these extended curriculum opportunities.
We are therefore hoping that the parents of Reading School would generously join us in a donation towards these two new minibuses, any amount however big or small would be gratefully received.
